Welcome to Chew Deli. I started my blog out of a pure passion for good and nutritious food. I’ve been on this journey for twenty odd years, learning and experimenting all the way. Why did I decide to start a food blog? I do find myself talking about food at any opportunity, so it was only natural that I should pour it down here and share my experience with the world.
My journey with food wasn’t always easy, born and raised in Poland where communism was still alive, so food wasn’t something that excited me early on. At the age of only 10 months old I developed anaemia because I refused to eat, especially milk. In my early teenage years I remember suffering from regular stomach pains. I guess my body was telling me something. As I got older I could make my own decisions and started cooking for myself. This is when my food love story began.
I turned vegetarian at the age of 18 and was a regular at my local health food store. Now I live in the UK and lead a very happy vegan life with no pains and no anaemia.
What I love about food is the fact that you can create something out of nothing. If I like something I want to find out how to make it myself and make it better. I constantly research and find out new things about food and why it is good for you. I do like to experiment and give things a go. I started intermittent fasting in August 2017 and have tried a low carb diet (I have PCOS and its supposed to be better for me).
I exercise regularly, 5-6 times a week (mainly weights and yoga) and it’s one of my biggest passions in life. Aside from being health conscious I try to live a green life as much as possible. I drive an electric car, recycle and use local resources (I plan to grow my own vegetables very soon).
I have a full time job and I am a mum, so all of my recipes are quick and simple. I hope you enjoy my blog and the recipes within it!
